The Tempranillo variety originates from Spain where it is grown in the Rioja and Ribera del Duero regions. Tempranillo is a variety of black grape that is used to make full-bodied red wines.

The Atika Tempranillo has a bright and youthful colour. There is an immediate hit of dark bitter cherry on the nose that is typical of the variety. The palate follows with more of the cherry “bitter/sweet” characters and there is a hint of oak which shows in the mocha and dark chocolate finish. At the end there are sweet earthy notes and a savoury hint of shitake mushroom.
